Client services

Advice and information

Because our work covers so many areas, we have extensive knowledge of all the services and agencies operating in Oxford. We are always happy to share this knowledge with members of the public, clients, and colleagues.

Advocacy

We accompany clients to court appearances, provide support with children and family issues, and help to tackle harassment.

Coordination and connection

We help clients make sense of the wide range of agencies that may offer relevant services. This might involve arranging a case conference or connecting agencies that were unaware of each other's involvement.

Emotional support

We offer a listening ear, support with drug or alcohol problems, one-to-one sessions to explore emotional issues, and referrals to specialist counsellors.

Links with relevant services

If a client wishes, we arrange links with services such as GPs and other health professionals, employment advisors and solicitors.

Clients and the general public are welcome to contact us for advice and information about local services.

Outreach with rough sleepers

We provide an outreach service on the streets for people who are sleeping rough. Our aim is to help rough sleepers to tackle any issues that are blocking their routes to settled accommodation.

Practical help

We provide information on housing, dealing with police and solicitors, support with appointments, and coping with benefits, bills and debts.

Watching briefs

Some people will not engage with The Elmore Team, or with any other agency, but they clearly have high need. In these circumstances, we maintain a 'watching brief', which involves monitoring a person's situation as we go about our daily work. The information we collate about a person may at some point indicate a heightened risk or a particular need for intervention.
